Since I had to test the interaction with videos, what’s better than the sight of the Tokyo skyline in timelapse?
The author of this video says it’s a tribute to Ridley Scott and Vangelis and that makes me think once more at how Tokyo is in my eyes a cyberpunk lover’s dream.
First time I walked the streets of Tokyo I thought at various scenes from Blade Runner and the effect still remains, whenever I walked the streets of Shibuya at night, maybe in the rain, the glow of the neon lights, the people massing on the walkways and the cars passing so close, all of that brings me back with my memory to what still is to this day a masterpiece of cinematography (that, and my favourite movie).
Same feeling this Vimeo video by Samuel Cockedey provokes in me… and Vangelis’ wonderful music (from Blade Runner soundtrack), definitely helps.
Weirdly, since in my last period in Japan I used to listen Human by The Killers, as well as some of the best songs from Jhonny Cash, them too remind me of Tokyo… oh well…
This is another example of timelapse in Tokyo, from a YouTube video from the same guy, Samuel Cockedey.
