The day of my departure for Tokyo gets closer and I’m almost ready!
It’s been a two and a half years (and some) since I last set foot in the capital of Japan and I’m really looking forward to see familiar places, find some new and meet my friends once more.
Since my old and small digital camera isn’t working properly anymore and I’d finally like to lear how to do some proper shots, I bought a new Nikon, the D5100, with the basic 18-55 lens plus the 55-300 just in case.
I was wondering about the 35mm f/1.8 too, but since it can be found in Tokyo too, should I feel the need for it I may buy it there.
Anyway I hope to be able to take some decent pictures of my favourite metropolis, which I’ll try to upload on a daily basis on flickr and this blog (not all of them, just some of the “best” shots… or the “least bad”). I’ll be updating the blog from my tablet, a Toshiba Thrive (or AT100 or Regza, whatever…) so I hope it won’t give me any problems… otherwise you’d have to wait until I’m back in Italy.
This is gonna be my first long flight with Alitalia, a company I avoided carefully in the past due to unpleasant experiences in shorter flight, mostly between London or another european city to the italian airports. They made an offer which I couldn’t really refuse, though, 400 € for a ticket to Tokyo, so I decided to give them a chance… I just hope I won’t have to regret it!
